Chapter 6: Websites You Can Make Profit

A. ClickbankWebsites
Like I said before, REVIEW websites are where the money is at, with almost no work, and no headache. You don’t really have to respond to emails, you’re not responsible if a customer is unhappy, and you don’t have to search for affiliates like you would if you were selling your own product. So what you need to do is go through the thousands of programs offered through Clickbank, and check out their productivity scores. Under each program their score is listed in 4 categories:

SEamed/Sale: Average net dollar amount earned per affiliate, per referred sale. Note that this is the net earned per sale, and so it is impacted by refunds, chargebacks, and sales taxes. Therefore if you see that a program sells for $50 and they pay a 50% commission, you know that affiliates should be earning about $22 (after Clickbank’s cut) per referred sale. Now if Clickbank shows an average of only $10 net in this category, that means A LOT of refunds and chargebacks are happening, so you can bet that although this program may sell well, you would get killed on refunds because the product must not be very good.

%Earned/Sale: Average percentage commission earned per affiliate, per referred sale. This number should only vary if the publisher has changed their payout percentage over time. If the program offers a 50% commission, yet the average % listed in this category is 60%, it means the company used to offer a higher commission and must have lowered it for whatever reason. Maybe they are getting greedy?

%Referred: Fraction of publisher’s total sales that are referred by affiliates. This is very important. If less than 50% of sales are referred by affiliates, that means the merchant earns most of it’s sales by promoting the site on it’s own. If they are ranked highly overall in the Clickbank Marketplace, but their % referred is low, it’s mostly their own doing, and you shouldn’t expect to earn much with their program. On the other hand, if they are a new program, just starting out, this number doesn’t mean much.

Gravity: Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks, Clickbank adds an amount between 0.1 and 1 .0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added. This means that if gravity is higher than the others listed above and below it, the program has been running strong for the last 2 months. If the company is ranked highly overall on Clickbank, but the gravity is lower than the companies around it, it means that the program is not doing very well as of late. So, you want to look for companies that have a higher gravity than those ranked above them, a high referral percentage, a high percentage earned per sale, and a net $ amount that is near the current payout that the company offers it’s affiliates.
And don’t forget, promoting products in industries well known for fraud is always a good idea. That way, you can use my strategies in Chapter 1 to their fullest extent.

B. Example of websites that have made me over $Millions.
One former website that made me over $1 Million is Foreign-Pharmacies-Online.com. I sold it in 2004 when it looked like the future of foreign pharmacies was questionable (if the site is down, you can go to archive.org to see what it looked like). Google now has strict regulations for pharmacy ads, but free listings can still contain pharmacy related sites, so this site can still benefit greatly from SEO,cloaking and a strong affiliate program.

On this site I sold access to a list of foreign pharmacies that don’t require a prescription, and had great prices. Thus, it was very easy to use the strategies I laid out in Chapter One, and create ads that scared people into buying: “Don’t risk your health buying meds from unknown foreign pharmacies. We’ve reviewed them all.”
I also ran an affiliate program for my pharmacy site on ClickxChange.com. In addition to selling the list, I was also receiving a 20% commission on all prescriptions ordered because many of the pharmacies had affiliate programs.
My former website Creditprovide.com, which I mentioned earlier, made over $20k profit per month, and ALL of the traffic was free. Check out Chapter 3 to see how I did it.

Another website that made me a killing for several years is: Online-Gambling-Strategy.com. With just a few players per day, I earned $15k-$20klmonth from these losers spending their cash at the online casinos I was affiliated with. And,l raked in hundreds of newsletter subscribers daily.
Too bad the U.S. government recently (in Oct.2006) passed a bill that prevents U.S. residents from using their credit cards to gamble online. So my site is basically dead unless the lawmakers make a change.

Other sites I have owned that have made me $Millions are listed below. I sold all of them after I felt they were peaking in income. They dominated Clickbank when I owned them. Some may not exist anymore, but you can refer to archive.org to see what they used to look like.

1) FreeCarDirectory.com
2) CreditAxis.com
3) Get-Paid-For-Surveys.com
4) Govt-Auctions.com
5) TaxLienWealth.com
6) ShoppingJobDirectory.com

In addition to the sites above, I also run MANY”traffic middleman or PPC arbitrage”sites, like I explained in Chapter 3. Get cheap or free traffic, then optimize your site for expensive Adsense ads to show. It’s a nobrainer. I won’t reveal the URL’s of those site here because they would be instantly barred from Adsense. And we don’t want that now do we?
You should be seeing a theme here:

1) Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. If something happens, your business could fail overnight. Make sure you tackle MANY profitable niches. Laws change, and search engines constantly change their rules and algorithms, just like Google’s recent”Google Slap

2) I’ve obviously had great success in”shady”areas like bad credit, foreign pharmacies, and gambling. So if you think I’m involved in adult websites as well, you’d be right. The money is just too good. As long as you walk the legal line carefully, and protect yourself with a kick-ass attorney, you’ll be fine. I’m releasing Rich Jerk v.2.0 soon, and I’ll tell you exactly how I structure my business from a tax and legal standpoint. You’ll be amazed at what I get away with.
